Experience
I graduated from Dartmouth College with a degree in Economics. During college I did a fellowship in Johannesburg, South Africa where I volunteered for a youth development non-profit organization and tutored the children there. I developed a passion for tutoring while volunteering for this program. While I tutor a wide range of subjects, my favorites include math, economics, English reading and writing, history, and college preparation. I know from personal experience that big exams can be stressful, but with the right coaching and strategies, I can help students go into their tests with more confidence and come out with higher scores. I also have extensive experience writing and editing college application essays, scholarship essays, and fellowship essays, which culminated into my acceptance into multiple top-tier colleges and being a recipient of several top scholarships and fellowships. I love helping students think through how to improve and express themselves through their learning and essay applications. My tutoring experience has taught me that each student has a unique learning style, and I work hard to connect subject material to my student’s interests. Learning for me has been a constant process of discovery and delight, urged on by great teachers and role models. I hope to continue that tradition by sparking a passion and curiosity for learning in my students. Students I work with will work hard but we will also have a good time as we work to meet their goals. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy traveling, reading, and playing music.
